Virtual Event With Watch Party Locations Last Day

We really wanted to be together with you in person, but COVID-19 got in the way!  The tough decision was made to move the 2020 Nebraska Insurance Leaders Forum to an online, virtual conference this year -- WITH an opportunity for you to meet up with fellow attendees on the final day of the event.  We know we can't please everybody - but we're going to try!

This year's Forum will include up to seven hours of CE courses plus some program content designed to help you not just navigate -- but PROSPER during these unprecedented times.  Join us to hear from industry leaders and influencers presenting programs sure to help you tackle today's toughest challenges and strengthen your business.  

This event is entirely FREE for NAIFA members - and $75 for all non-members.  When you register, you will receive a separate, individual login link for each day of the event.  You will be able to login and participate in whichever days and programs you wish to attend!


All times listed are CENTRAL TIME.  Unless otherwise noted, each CE program will provide one hour of Life & Health Insurance credit for both Nebraska & Iowa PLUS CFP, CPA. and Legal credit (pending approvals).

This program will shed light on the progress with the Federal legislative issues in the past year and review current hot topics that impact life insurance and financial services professionals, their business and clients. 

10:00 AM - Using Life Insurance in the Business Marketplace (1 hour CE)
Robert B. Wellendorf II, CLU, AEP, CAP – President, EXECSO
If you have business owner clients, this session is for you! Mr. Wellendorf will provide an in-depth review of ways to utilize life insurance to meet the business owner’s goals of achieving business succession, business continuity, estate planning, philanthropy or all the above. 

11:00 AM  - The Importance of Reviewing Life Insurance Policies (1 hour CE)
Eryka Morehead, CAP, CLTC, LACP – President & CEO, Collaborative Planning Group
How frequently should you be reviewing your clients’ life insurance policy with them? Are there hidden factors that your clients are not aware of in their financial plans that could cost them and those they care about drastic amounts of money? Although life insurance is sometimes erroneously portrayed as a “set it and forget it” type of investment, the reality is that there are a variety of variables that can change along the way. This one-hour program will reiterate the importance of reviewing policies on a regular basis to enhance policy performance and avoid MEC status and unexpected taxation.

1:00 PM - Medicare Fundamentals (1 hour CE)

This presentation will break down Medicare into its four components including Medicare Part A, B, C, and D.  Provide an overview of Medicare, who is eligible and when.  Review Medicare supplement plans, Medicare Part D 2020 standard outline of coverage, Medicare Part C vs. Medicare supplement coverage and the Medicare Access and Reauthorization Act (MACRA) of 2015.

2:00 PM - Small Group Self-Funding: A Winning Strategy for All (1 hour CE)
Stephen Galasso – Group Sales Manager, National General Insurance
This session will cover an overview of Small Group Self-Funding, including; plan mechanics, contract differences, and the different strategies available today with this platform. In addition, we will focus on why more small groups are embracing a strategy most thought was reserved for large corporations and how you as a broker can make sure your client (and your pocket book) benefit with these plan options.

3:00 PM - Current Healthcare Issues (1 hour CE)
Marcy Buckner, JD – NAHU Vice President of Government Affairs
This program will review recent healthcare issues and answer questions about federal bills that impact the healthcare industry.
